What is cracking?
Cracking involves working the soil vertically while respecting its structure and the life living in it. Actisol designed and developed this technique thanks to its unique tooth. The shock wave sent to the tip allows it to penetrate the ground in the most difficult conditions. Efficient working of the soil while respecting the way it functions.
The benefits of a cracker
The Actisol Demeter cracker’s fine and fluid tooth respects the agronomic rules of tillage. It respects soil structure without disrupting it or mixing the horizons.
This method has many benefits. Cracking warms the soil before sowing, aerates it, provides it with nitrogen, increases its drainage capacity without leaching, and breaks up any plough pans. All this while maintaining its bearing capacity and structure.
Actisol crackers facilitate root development by fragmenting compacted horizons. Crops are strengthened through the provision of conditions for deep root development. This technique offers real benefits for your soil and your crops.
Cracking: Actisol’s story
It was thanks to the passion and expertise of Actisol’s founders that the cracking technique was invented. It is based on an agronomic approach and soil observation. One of the avenues of thought of this method was not to turn the soil over to leave the arable and fertile layer on the surface and not bring up the less fertile or even sterile lower layer (certain sands or clays).
A precise and technical approach
Leaving the bacteria and fungi in their environments, the aerobic bacteria in the topsoil, and the anaerobic bacteria in the deeper layers, this was the issue raised. An alternative to ploughing needed to be found in order to allow air and water to enter the soil without weakening the structures.
Pioneer in soil cracking
As a method now recognised and particularly appreciated by farmers practising sustainable farming, cracking is the fruit of our many years of experience in the field.
We are proud to be at the origin of this revolutionary tillage method, which is perfectly adapted to today’s environmental challenges.
By choosing the Demeter, you are opting for farm machinery that forms the basis of the cracking process as we know it today.
